The original elevated deck had no escape route from the backside, which made access difficult. To solve this, we designed and built a custom deck staircase that blends seamlessly with the existing structure. We used a pressure-treated frame set on new reinforced concrete footings, enclosed the crawl space with lattice and a hidden access door, and installed redwood decking, treads, risers, fascia boards, and railings. Everything was sealed and stained with premium wood oil for protection and timeless appeal.
Phase 2: Complete Deck Rebuild
Part of the main deck itself was in rough shape, with damaged framing and unsafe boards. We completed a full deck rebuild from the ground up, replacing the old structure with a new pressure-treated frame and adding extra joists for strength and stability. Hand-selected redwood deck boards gave the surface a clean, natural look, while premium stain and sealer provided long-lasting protection and rich color. This upgrade restored the deck’s strength and refreshed the entire backyard space.
Phase 3: Custom Swim-Up Bar Installation
To complete the project, we added something special — a custom outdoor swim-up bar. By installing a stunning live edge wood countertop right under the kitchen windows and next to the pool, we created the perfect spot for entertaining. Now the homeowners can enjoy drinks, good times, and a touch of luxury just steps from the water.
